HoP: Developer's Blog #4

It's that time again and I have good news. In the last HoP blog post, I was complaining about our game play times. I'm happy to say that, after a few minor tweaks and a lot more testing, our times are now well within the primer game range. With this fix, we can stop worrying about whether or not this is really a primer game and focus on continued testing.
So with that out of the way, let's talk about some game features! In fact, let's talk about one of my favorite game dynamics:
Boons.
To escape the demons and win House of Possession, you must collect Exits. While you collect these Exits, the demons are always playing tricks to confuse you and try and keep you lost, including stealing the Exits you've already found. So how do you get an edge on the demons and the other players?
The Exits you collect are each made of a specific material, wood or metal. As you race through the house, in addition to Exits you'll also collect items called Boons. The Boons give you that needed advantage to keep your Exits and boost their potential but they only work with the appropriate materials.
Keep in mind that, if you're lucky enough to find Boons as you search through the house, you also have to be strategic enough to use them at the right time. If you have the wrong Boons or use them at the wrong time, you might just watch your opponents rush past you. The Boons are great fun and can quickly turn the tide of the game.
Well that's enough from me, I better get back to the table. Just remember, gamers, sometimes it's better to stop and listen at the door
before barging through it!
Happy gaming!
