HoP Designer’s Blog #1

So I'm really excited, to start with! As I write this, we haven't fully opened the doors to our games site yet but I know now that HoP is greenlit to move past alpha! We are nearing the end of alpha testing now. By the time the games site is open and you can actually read this first ever designer's blog for House of Possession, it will officially be in beta testing. As I understand it, the House of Possession site, where you are probably reading this blog right now, will be done in a few more days. So I think that pretty much guarantees that we are moving forward with the game.
Before we make the move into beta testing, we have a few more sizeable changes that we have to make and push through the alpha testing "paces". That stinks at the end of an alpha phase but I like the changes and it's just something we have to do.
Once beta testing officially starts, we should start to get a lot more player insight fairly quickly as we begin letting our friend's play with their friends and family. Soon after that, we'll see what local gamers think of it as we jump around to a few game stores. It hasn't been decided yet but, near the end of beta, we may even provide a downloadable version of HoP. This will allow a few other folks out in the world to provide their feedback and make the game even better.
I can't say a lot about the game right now, as I am sure you understand, but I'll tell you this much: House of Possession is a lot of fun in a short amount of time! It's one of the most active games I've played and it's still really easy to follow. Trying to get out of the house with both players around the table and the demons inside the game fighting to stop you makes HoP a really intense game.
This first blog is relatively short, we're still in "hush" mode after all. Once we're in beta testing, I'll try talking about a few things more specifically. Maybe I can even slip in a few pictures here and there. At least until the censors tackle me. In the meantime, I can't wait until you guys get to try out this new primer game! So just know that we are working as quickly as we can to get this out the door to you and your gaming group.
